【茉莉清雅 芬芳天下】热烈祝贺世外外籍教师Michelle 荣获经济技术开发区首届“友谊奖”

为表彰外国专家和港澳台专家为合肥经济技术开发区经济建设和社会发展做出的突出贡献，促进对外交流与合作，经开区决定授予来自美国、日本、德国、韩国、巴西、菲律宾、台湾等7个国家和地区的10名专家首届“友谊奖”。
获奖的10名外国专家均为各领域的杰出代表，有的是领军人物，有的是技术骨干，有的是管理精英，为合肥市的科技创新和社会进步做出了重要贡献。我校资深外教Michelle Villaflor Sagayno女士获此殊荣。

在颁奖现场，经开区工委副书记桑林兵先生向获奖外国专家表示热烈祝贺，同时向在经开区工作的全体外国专家、国际友人及其亲属表示崇高敬意。
桑副书记希望外籍专家们继续把合肥作为“第二故乡”，一如既往为合肥特别是经开区的发展进步献计出力。经开区管委会将努力完善制度、改进服务、为外国专家在华工作和生活创造更好的环境，提供更好的支持。
Michelle老师获得“友谊奖”荣誉称号
Michelle女士温文尔雅，爱岗敬业，热爱合肥，热爱世外，秉承教育无国界的博大情怀，赢得了世外师生的一致好评。Michelle表示，非常荣幸能够获得经开区管委会颁发的“友谊奖”，感谢经开区对她工作的肯定，感谢世外学校给她提供了良好的平台，承诺要在今后的工作中继续努力，为合肥的教育发展和两国人民友谊做出更大的贡献。
茉莉花，恬淡素雅，无私地在天地间留下洁白芬芳的倩影，深受世界各国尤其是东方国家的喜爱，不仅代表中国人民心中美好品质、真挚友谊，也是Michelle祖国的国花，同样象征纯洁永恒的友谊。
在世外君的心中，米老师就是这朵馨香的茉莉花。在学校，大家都认识这位身材娇小，却总是带着文雅笑容，谦逊美丽的“米老师”，怀着对中国文化的向往之情，和对教育事业的热爱，八年前，教师出身的她，远赴重洋，扎根世外，为学校的国际教育事业贡献自己的智慧和力量。作为国际部一名外教班主任，她那创意无限的英文科学课堂上，总是充满欢声笑语；课下，米老师更是无私的关爱每个孩子。她教学经验丰富，在她和同事们的共同努力下，世外精心打造出适合中外学生发展的国际课程体系，小朋友们一口流利的英语，极佳的创新能力，就是最好的证明。此次获奖，世外君衷心为她感到喜悦和自豪。一起来听听MIchelle老师的心声吧——
Let me start by thanking the Hefei City Civil Government and everyone involved for this great honor. I am greatly humbled to be receiving this award.
I accept this award on behalf of all the incredible and hardworking teachers who spend their lives happily serving in the classroom for the good of all the students.
大家上午好！首先很感谢经开区管委会颁发“友谊奖”给我。我由衷地表示感谢，这对我和所有像我一样奋战在教育一线，誓将一生奉献给教育事业的老师，是极大的肯定和鼓舞。
米老师的“全班福”
I learned early on the value of a solid education from my parents. Growing up I was taught that without education you really could not make it in today’s generation. Education is the key to the future. That’s why I work hard every day to make a difference in my students’ lives. I have a great responsibility not only providing education but also providing students the chance to mold their future into a bright and promising one. My responsibility extends far beyond the classroom and teaching- it’s about learning, the students and mine. Learning to see how the immediate impacts tomorrow. I believe this is also true to all the fine teachers here.
幼年时父母的言传身教使我感受到教育的重要性。随着年龄的递增，在当今的时代格局下我更认识到没有教育一个人是无法成功的，所以我努力工作希望能用自己的绵薄之力让学生的未来更精彩。身上肩负的使命和职责使我明白教育不仅是教书，更是身为教师要创造无限的可能性引领学生走向光明的未来。所以我认为教育是学习如何走进学生，学习如何让自己日臻完美，学习如何用现在影响未来。我想所有的优秀教师们和我一样感同身受。
课堂上的米老师
I am most grateful for the opportunity to be a teacher. I consider it an honor to walk into a classroom and nurture students’ talents and achieve their dreams in life. I consider it a privilege to have the front row seat to the future and help build that future one at a time. To quote the famous American historian, Henry Adams, “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”
While awards are wonderful to receive, just knowing that you have helped students in their educational journey is truly rewarding enough. My greatest reward is being a teacher.
When I was informed about this award, I was completely surprised because I didn’t even know that I had been nominated. It took me a good part of a week for it to start sinking in.
Let me tell you that it is not just my sole effort that has brought me here. Winning this award would not have been made possible without the inspiration I have received from my seniors and school leaders especially our school principal, Mr. Shao and my incredible colleagues in Hefei World Foreign Language School, for whom I have the deepest respect, and from whom I have derived the strength to challenge myself and perform better. Hefei World Foreign Language School for which I have been working for more than eight years is an amazing institution. It is my home away from home. If I wasn’t working there, I wouldn’t be here. I would also like to thank my family for their constant support. And most importantly, to my students past, present and future. Thank you very much!

这座奖杯虽离不开我个人的努力，更离不开世外对我的关怀爱护，尤其感谢邵校长对我的培养和帮助。同时我还要感谢我的同事们，他们是那么的才华出众，那么的拼搏向上。从他们身上我汲取了源源不断的力量，驱使着我向前。我在世外已经工作了八个年头，这是一所无与伦比的学校，是我第二个家。感谢世外！感谢我的家人！感谢我的学生们！谢谢大家！
